Mary Jane Hewins, 86, passed away Tuesday May 9, 2017 at home in the company of her loving family. She was born to the late Jane Horan and Charles O'Hara, and raised in Queens NY, but was always a country girl at heart. Jane enjoyed spending time with her husband, family and friends; at home, during travels and on RV'ing trips. Jane and her husband, along with her four sons and their families, moved to the Richmond VA area some 30 years ago, where she enjoyed the country lifestyle at the family farm in Powhatan...

Mary Jane Hewins, 86, passed away Tuesday May 9, 2017 at home in the company of her loving family. She was born to the late Jane Horan and Charles O'Hara, and raised in Queens NY, but was always a country girl at heart. Jane enjoyed spending time with her husband, family and friends; at home, during travels and on RV'ing trips. Jane and her husband, along with her four sons and their families, moved to the Richmond VA area some 30 years ago, where she enjoyed the country lifestyle at the family farm in Powhatan VA. She loved her country home, their horses and even motorcycles. Jane loved life and lived a long and meaningful one.

Jane leaves behind her beloved husband Frank and a legacy of love in her children: Steve, Mark and his wife Kathy, Wade and his wife Sue, Eric and his wife Judy, and her grandchildren; Christopher and his wife Michelle, Jonathan and his wife Marie, Ryan, Lauren, Heather and her husband Dave, Jessica and her husband Alan, Dayna, Christopher and his wife Samantha, Matthew and Sarah-Beth, as well as her great-grandchildren, Snow, Vail, Crew, Penn, Hendricks and Wesley. She also leaves her sister Alice Dove, her late brother Ray O'Hara and a very large "Horan" extended family of loving cousins, nieces and nephews, of which she truly loved visiting with at multiple family reunions over the years.

The funeral will be Tuesday, June 27th 1:30 pm at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 9505 Gayton Rd, Henrico, VA 23229, followed by an interment at Virginia Veterans Cemetery, 10300 Pridesville Rd, Amelia, VA 23002, and subsequent gathering at Mark & Kathy's home 2225 Lastingham Dr, Midlothian, VA 23113. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital - please check "Dedicate my donation" in memory of Jane Hewins.
