Joseph Stewart Eberly, 65, passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at Elmcroft of Chesterfield after a 7-year battle with Alzheimer's Dementia. He was proceeded in death by his beloved wife, Diane Sonner Eberly. They shared 30 years of marriage together.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of Joseph Patrick Eberly and Dorothy Stewart Eberly. He graduated from University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Until 2009, he was employed by Anthem as a system's analyst.

Joseph Stewart Eberly, 65, passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at Elmcroft of Chesterfield after a 7-year battle with Alzheimer's Dementia. He was proceeded in death by his beloved wife, Diane Sonner Eberly. They shared 30 years of marriage together.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of Joseph Patrick Eberly and Dorothy Stewart Eberly. He graduated from University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Until 2009, he was employed by Anthem as a system's analyst.

Joe was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church. He also belonged to The Butterfly Group of The Alzheimer's Association of Richmond. He enjoyed playing and watching sports, traveling, and spending time with his family. His hobbies included music, building amplifiers, attending UVA football games, and landscaping. He will be remembered for his big heart, charismatic personality, and his ability to make anyone laugh.

Joe is survived by his daughter, Lauren Eberly, and four sisters; April (Paul) Luber, Erin Chandler (Ben Tacheron), Tolly (John) Hicks, and Ellen Reynolds. He is also survived by his beloved pup, Bailey Webster, and cat, Izzy.

The memorial service/ celebration of life will be held on June 12th from 4-7pm at The Boathouse at Sunday Park (4602 Millridge Pkwy, Midlothian, VA 23112). In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Richmond. ( http://www.alz.org/grva/ )
