Powis, Elise Marie, 92, passed away on May 10, 2017 at her home at Brandermill Woods in Midlothian. Elise was born in Brockton, Massachusetts to Thomas and Elizabeth Mullins. She was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Helen. Elise is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Robert E. Powis; her children, Anne Edwards (Garry), Michael Powis (Dale), Marybeth MacBain (David), Kathleen Powis, Patricia Miller (Jim), and Paul Powis, nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, step-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Powis, Elise Marie, 92, passed away on May 10, 2017 at her home at Brandermill Woods in Midlothian. Elise was born in Brockton, Massachusetts to Thomas and Elizabeth Mullins. She was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Helen. Elise is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Robert E. Powis; her children, Anne Edwards (Garry), Michael Powis (Dale), Marybeth MacBain (David), Kathleen Powis, Patricia Miller (Jim), and Paul Powis, nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, step-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Elise was very proud of her training as a Registered Nurse at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brockton Hospital. She was in the beginning of her career as a nurse in the U.S. Navy, where she met her the love of her life, Bob, at Camp Lejeune. She then shifted her career to raising her six children and settling the family as they lived in various parts of the country. Elise liked to feed her inquisitive mind with sewing, crafts, volunteer work, church involvement, travel and continuing education. She received her Bachelor's Degree at age 51 and resumed her nursing career. Elise was an active volunteer in her churches. The family wishes to thank Elise's caregivers for their loving care and attention, particularly Debra, Sandra, Nadia, Alexus and Cindy.
